Savage Arms is seeking a new Product Design Engineer to help design and build new firearms. The person hired will have a leading role in the design, development, and implementation of new products from concept through commercialization. Ideal candidates will have firearms design experience and considerable knowledge of metallurgy and plastic part design. Avid firearm users and enthusiasts with mechanical machine design aptitude will be strongly considered also.

Technical Job Qualifications
Savage is looking for experienced applicants with specialized skills: “Successful candidates will have proficiency in mechanical component and assembly design, 3D CAD, and the ability to perform tolerance studies to validate design integrity. Strong mechanical assembly design aptitude, problem-solving, and project management skills are an absolute MUST. Candidates should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field and a minimum of two (2) years mechanical design experience in 3D CAD, AutoCAD Inventor, preferred.”

How to Find Cool Stuff in Daily Bulletin Archives

You can always navigate to all previous posts using the “Older Entries” link at the bottom of this page.

If you want to go back to a particular day, week, or month, you can click on the calendar to select a date, or use the pull-down menu to select a past month — such as August 2009. If you are looking for a story about a recurring event or important match that happens at the same time each year, try the date search tools. This is also a great way to revisit our popular “April Fools” Editions.

How to Search by Topic or Keyword
The fastest and easiest method to find older posts is simply to search by keyword, or click one of the topic headings. If you want to see a video, for example, just click on “Videos”. If you’re looking for all stories about scopes, click “Optics”. To find a particular item, such as the story on Barnard actions, just type “Barnard” in the search field and click “Search”. Our search works very fast! Try it, you’ll like it.

2010 National Rifle & Pistol Championships Commence July 12th

The 2010 National Rifle and Pistol Championships kick off July 12 at Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio. Conducted by the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) with assistance from the Ohio National Guard, these matches have long been considered the “World Series of the Shooting Sports.” A tradition at Camp Perry since 1907, the event is divided into five separate phases: Pistol, Smallbore 3-Position, Smallbore Prone, High Power, and Long Range. The popular CMP clinics and matches will be held from July 30 through August 7. MidwayUSA is the Title Sponsor for the 2010 National Championships. The National Matches begin each year in early July with the National Pistol Championships and conclude in August with the Long Range High Power Championship. Competitors represent a vast array of experience including novice shooters, Olympic medalists, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and international competitors.
