“The first” semi-automatic blowback pistol in 1908? I would say Browning’s FN 1900 predated them considerably, for example.
Their notable achievement in my view was a successful double-action trigger in a semi-automatic pistol and the automatic hammer-block in the PP/PPK design.
But knowing such basic facts like the function of the PP lockwork seems far beyond today’s gun writers.
