FREE Hornady Reloading APP — Data 99 Cents Per Cartridge Type

Hornady reloading handbook cartridge Mobile App Android IOS

The Hornady Handbook of Cartridge Reloading is now available in Mobile App form. Hornady has released FREE Mobile Apps for Android and iOS (Apple) Mobile Devices. You get a lot of information for free. However, most of the actual load data is surcharged. You can buy all current load data for $19.99, or use the “à la carte” option to purchase load data for 99 cents each per cartridge type.

For example, if you wanted .223 Rem, .284 Win, .308 Win, you’d pay $2.97 (3 x $0.99). Frankly, we’d just use the FREE information available from the Hodgdon and Vihtavuori online Reloading Centers. But we understand some folks will prefer the convenience of an App with a wide variety of powder brands all in one place. Hornady’s full data collection covers hundreds of cartridges — .17 Hornet to 50 BMG (for rifle) and .22 Hornet to .500 S&W (for pistol). Folks say the App is easy to navigate and simple to use. For more information, visit Hornady.com/reloadingapp.

Popular powders such as Reloder 17, Superformance, and LeverEvolution® have also been expanded.

Included with the free download are hundreds of pages of reloading information, bullet guides, tips and techniques plus limited free data on recent offerings such as 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, and 300 PRC. Beyond that, reloaders must pay for load data on particular cartridges. Reloading data is available for download in three ways: Á la carte ($0.99 per cartridge type), Full Data Purchase for App ($19.99), or Annual Subscription ($19.99/year recurring).

Subscription Option — If you pay $19.99 per year you get full access to Hornady Handbook of Cartridge Reloading 11th Edition data, plus new data Hornady develops for the 12th Edition. You’ll receive App notifications of the new data as Hornady releases it.

Nosler #9 Reloading Guide — Great Resource for Reloaders

Nosler reloading guide number 9 9th edition handbook book load data manual

In late 2020 Nosler released the Nosler Reloading Guide #9, the latest in a respected series of hardback Nosler load manuals. This 800-page guide covers 101 cartridge types. New in this edition you’ll find the popular 6mm Creedmoor, 6mm XC, 6.5 PRC, and 7.62×39, along with 20 Nosler, 22 Nosler, 24 Nosler, 27 Nosler and 33 Nosler. Current Load Data for 101 Cartridge Types
The Nosler Reloading Guide 9 Reloading Manual provides load data for 101 rifle and handgun cartridges with hundreds of new powder additions. A comprehensive data set for today’s reloader, this manual is current with every bullet that Nosler offers through 2020 from 17 caliber up to 458 caliber in the rifle section and 9mm up to 45 caliber in the handgun section. Nine new cartridges were added to this manual. These include: 20 Nosler, 22 Nosler, 24 Nosler, 6mm Creedmoor, 6mm XC, 6.5 PRC, 27 Nosler, 7.62×39 and 33 Nosler. Also new for the Nosler Reloading Guide #9 are cartridge introductions written by veteran outdoor writers and industry tech experts. Q. Why Buy a Book when Load Data is Available Online from Powder Makers?

There are good, solid reasons to buy print-format loading guides produced by bullet-makers. If you go to the Hodgdon online Reloading Data Center you’ll only find loads with Hodgdon, IMR, and Winchester powders — the key brands they sell. In a book such as this Nosler #9 or the Sierra Reloading Manual, you will find loads with a much wider selection of powders including Vihtavuori, Alliant, Accurate, Norma, Ramshot, and other brands. You won’t find a Reloder 16 or VV N140 load on Hodgdon’s website.

In addition, it is handy to have loads in a print edition which is easy to access on your load bench. You don’t need a computer or an internet connection. And using a book is often faster than a web interface when quickly scanning through a variety of bullet choices for a cartridge.

Along with the new Nosler #9 Manual, here are four other Recommended Reloading Manuals:

Buds gun shop Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor GRS Berserk stock Bargain sale $799

This is a heck of a deal. Fine action, great stock, shockingly good price. For comparison, Savage sells its similar 6.5 Creedmoor Model 10 GRS for $1449.00 MSRP (street price $1250.00). Frankly, we prefer the Howa 1500 action and trigger, though we like the versatility of the Savage barrel nut system. Hard to go wrong here with Bud’s Gun Shop’s $799.00 price. That’s for payment via money orders, checks, or echecks; credit card price is $822.97.

Value — The street price on these guns is well below the cost of a custom rifle. This would be a great entry-level gun. Stock — The length-of-pull and cheek-piece adjustments on the GRS were fantastic. Stock was extremely comfortable in alternate positions.” READ Rifleshooter.com REVIEW HERE.

PPS M2 Carry Concealed Walther handgun pistol CDNN Rebate Sale

PPS M2 Carry Concealed Walther handgun pistol CDNN Rebate SaleGrab a Walther PPS M2 for under $300.00. This is a great little concealed carry pistol. We do like this little pistol — it’s comfortable, accurate, and has a decent trigger. The PPS M2 is the carry choice of our System Administrator. READ PPS M2 Review.

NOTE: The PPS M2 LE Edition 9mm is also on sale right now at Brownells for $419.99 (plus $10 handling charge). Use Code M4Y to get an extra 10% discount. That lowers what you pay Brownells to $388.00. After the $100 Walther Rebate, your net cost is $288.00.

7. Midsouth — Hornady Reloading Manual (9th Ed.) $9.99

Hornady 9th reloading manual

Late last year, Hornady released the 10th Edition of its reloading manual. That costs $28.04 at Amazon.com. But you can get the 900+ page 9th Edition Hornady Handbook of Cartridge Reloading (hardback) for just $9.99 at Midsouth. We think that’s a great deal. All the key information is still there. The 9th edition covers 233 different calibers/cartridges (including 6.5 Creedmoor), plus 146 powders and 304 bullets! Each cartridge data section features Hornady bullets along with velocity and powder recipe tables. FYI — the 10th Edition adds the new ELD and ELD-X bullets, a handful of new cartridges plus IMR Enduron powders. But other than that, you’ll probably be very happy with the 9th Edition at one-third the price!

8. Amazon — Cotton Cleaning Patches, 800 for $8.99 – $17.99

Amazon bulk pack patches 800 cotton flannel

Got patches? Here’s a great deal on 100% cotton flannel patches. There are many sizes available, starting at $8.99 for 800 3/4-inch “17 Cal” patches. For 6mm rifles, we like either the 1-inch “22/.223″ patches or the 1 1/4-inch “.25/6mm” patches priced at $11.99 for 800. These are Amazon’s #1 seller for gun cleaning patches. Some shooters prefer to wrap their patches around a jag or brush and square patches work better for wrapping. The large, 2-inch .30 Cal patches cost $17.99 for 800. These prices include FREE Shipping for Prime Members.

9. MidwayUSA — Pro Series Folding Shooting Mat, $29.09

MidwayUSA folding padded shooting mat multi-cam

We like this folding shooting mat for three main reasons. First, it has nice half-inch-thick EVA high-density foam inside. That 0.5″ padding makes this mat MUCH more comfortable than thin mats when shooting from concrete or hard ground. Second, at 76″ long x 35.5″ wide, the mat is big enough for tall guys and there’s plenty of width for log-books, ammo boxes, and other gear. Third, the multi-cam pattern is distinctive. When you’re at a big match with many competitors, this mat is easy to spot, so you can quickly find your place on the firing line. The Pro Series Folding Shooting Mat is currently CLEARANCE SALE priced for $29.09, marked down from $109.99. Choose either Multi-Cam or OD Green for $29.09. NOTE: This is more like a work-out mat than a typical thin shooting mat. It does NOT roll into a small bundle, but this is much more comfortable for long shooting sessions on hard ground.

10. Amazon — Caldwell Front and Rear Bag Set (Unfilled), $11.29

Caldwell deadshot front rear bag sandbag sale varminter

This is a functional, “field expedient” system that’s easy to haul around and only costs $11.29! Varminters can keep these bags in a vehicle for deployment any time. Act quick — this is a special sale price at Amazon.com. This unfilled bag combo sells for up to $25.00 elsewhere. Yes this is a very inexpensive system, but it works surprisingly well, particularly with “standard” rifles with narrow fore-ends. Rather than sand, you can fill with rice or media to make the bags lighter. This system features a heavy-duty clip and D-Ring for linking the two bags for easy transport. The Caldwell DeadShot bags are crafted from durable, water-resistant 600 denier polyester.

BAG Dimensions (filled): FRONT bag 11″ x 8.5″ X 6″; REAR bag is 5″ x 5″ x 4.5″.
