NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Dallas, May 3-6, 2018

NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits Rifle Association Dallas TX Texas May 2018

With the NRA being shunned by “politically correct” American corporations (STORY HERE), we think it’s more important than ever for firearms owners to support the NRA. If you don’t belong to the NRA yet, consider joining. If you are already a member, renew your membership. And we encourage all NRA members to attend the NRA’s annual convention, to be held in Dallas, Texas this year. The May event is expected to draw over 80,000 members.

NRA Annual Meeting Featured Tonight on Shooting USA TV

Shooting USA NRA Annual Meeting Louisville Kentucky election

Tonight, August 10th, ShootingUSA TV covers the 2016 NRA Annual Convention, held this past May in Louisville, Kentucky. Host Jim Scoutten and his team spotlights hot new products, including Hornady ELD ammo, Busnell scopes, a Les Baer 1911, plus the Victory, a new .22LR pistol from Smith and Wesson. In this episode, Shooting USA also focuses on the important political issues facing the NRA this year.

Watch Preview of Shooting USA’s 2016 NRA Meeting Episode:

This year, the NRA’s Annual Meeting took place during a critical election year. More than NRA members came to Louisville, showing their support for Second Amendment rights. One of the NRA’s oldest members, 99-year-old Wayne Bird, said it’s important to stand up and be counted: “I’ve been a member of the NRA 78 years and I’m 99 years old. And ever since that time they have been fighting for our freedom, for our Second Amendment freedom….”

NRA Annual Meeting Convention Exhibits Indianapolis

NRA Annual Meeting Convention Exhibits Indianapolis“Nine Acres of Guns and Gear — Are you ready?” Those were the words of NRA President James (“Jim”) Porter as he announced the official Opening of the 143rd NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits. Porter then cut a red ribbon — with a little help from Brenda Potterfied and Eliza, her granddaughter (see photo at right).

During the opening ceremony, Porter told the waiting crowd: “As you walk around the exhibit hall today, keep this in mind — this is where freedom lives.” Along with NRA President Porter were NRA 2nd Vice President Pete Brownell, Executive Director of NRA General Operation Kyle Weaver, NRA Treasurer and CFO Woody Phillips, MidwayUsa’s Brenda and Larry Potterfield, and NRA Secretary Major James Land.

Norma Brass to be Marketed in “Norma USA” 25-ct Boxes

The Swedish company Norma is making a major push to expand sales in the North American market. As part of this effort it is re-packaging Norma cartridge brass in affordable, 25-count boxes labeled “Norma USA”. At the 2012 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Norma USA will introduce a complete line of US, European, and Weatherby cartrige brass for the consumer market. The brass will be sold in 25-count consumer packs with new Norma USA branding and graphics. According to a Norma spokesman, “the idea behind the 25-count pack is to provide an affordable option. Folks can try the brass, see how good it is, and then buy larger quantities as needed.” Later, Norma plans to offer 100- or 250-count “Shooters Packs”.

Here’s the big news folks: Norma is finally getting its USA distribution system in order — at least that’s the plan. Norma USA will warehouse and fulfill all Norma products in all calibers by mid-February of 2012 with distribution through major US retailers. Hopefully this means product will be on the shelves and there won’t be long waits “for the boat to arrive”.

To support the Norma USA product line, a completely new, up-to-date Norma USA website will be launched mid-January 2012. In addition, the Norma USA product launch will be supported by an extensive advertising campaign in NRA publications. Norma reps will also attend the NRA Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, April 12 – 15, 2012. New loaded ammo offerings will be announced at the Annual Meeting. (Sorry, Norma won’t release any info on the new ammo at this time.)

Highlights from 2011 NRA Annual Meeting

The National Rifle Association’s Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Pittsburgh, PA wrapped up yesterday. The day’s special events started with the annual Prayer Breakfast, and concluded with a rousing seminar featuring Ted Nugent. Mid-day Seminars included: Women’s Pistol Instructor Training, Advanced Handloading Techniques, and a seminar on 100 Years of the Model 1911 pistol. As on Friday and Saturday, hundreds of exhibitors displayed firearms products, plus hunting and outdoor gear. This slide-show from the NRA Blog features some famous faces and other highlights from the NRA’s 3-day meeting in Pittsburgh. The next NRA Annual Meeting will be held April 13-15, 2012 in St. Louis, Missouri.

At the Glock booth, Top Shot Champs Chris Reed (Season 2) and Iain Harrison (Season 1) were on hand to meet the public, along with Gunny R. Lee Ermey. The appearance of “simple country boy” Reed drew much attention, as many booth visitors had watched the soft-spoken Reed capture his title only days before on the dramatic final episode of Top Shot Season 2. With two million+ viewers per week, Top Shot is a big hit. Top Shot Season 3 is in production and the show’s producers are now interviewing contestants for Season 4.
