VOTE! Today is Election Day — Let Your Voice Be Heard

2020 Voter Vote National Presidential election day ballot

VOTE Today.

Today, November 8, 2022, is election day. Control of Congress is at stake, and many state Governorships are being decided. With oppressive inflation and record illegal immigration, the nation is at a crossroads. This is a very important juncture in our nation’s history. In many respects the future of individual American freedoms and the Second Amendment will turn on the results of this election. YOUR VOTE COUNTS.

If you have not already voted — either by mail or via early in-person voting, VOTE today.

— If you are set to vote in-person, drive to the polling place and VOTE.

— If you have a vote-by-mail ballot, be sure to fill it out, verify it (as required) and take it to the Post Office or official ballot pick-up location in your area.

There are many tight races in the nation — the Senate races in Pennsylvania and Georgia as examples. In many states, a few thousand votes could decide the outcomes. So your vote CAN make a difference.

Election Day Voting 2016Who Should You Vote For?
Every American should vote for the candidates he or she believes are best qualified to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and state legislatures. In making that decision, VOTE for POLICIES not personalities. Who supports the Constitution? Who will defend the southern border? Who supports the Second Amendment? Who supports religious freedom? Who supports U.S. energy independence and lower fuel costs? Who supports the rights of parents of school kids? Who supports lower taxes? Who opposes the weaponization of the FBI and DHS?

Congressional Report Card Issued by NSSF

Congress house representatives U.S. Senate Report Card Second Amendment gun rights

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has released its 2020 Congressional Report Card. This report card grades all 431 U.S. Representatives and 100 U.S. Senators on key legislation of critical importance to the firearm industry, as well as the Second Amendment rights of America’s hunters and target shooters. See Complete Congressional Report Card HERE.

In the Report Card, the NSSF awarded 17 U.S. Senators and 97 U.S. Representatives the highest “A+” rating. This includes U.S. Senators Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), David Perdue (R-Ga.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.). Congressman Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) was also among the lawmakers awarded the highest rating.

Shown below is the U.S. Senate Report card. The Report card for the House of Representatives is four pages long, too lengthy to display here. CLICK HERE for House Report.

This nonpartisan scorecard reflects the voting record of each legislator. These grades indicate their public voting record as well as the weight and importance of these lawmakers sponsoring and co-sponsoring key legislation, their work on committees, letters signed to support issues and leadership to stand for our industry. “This scorecard is of vital importance to voters as we head into November elections. This tells voters exactly where their lawmakers stand on issues they care about like recreational shooting and hunting and the right to keep and bear arms” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF VP and General Counsel.

The NSSF notes that grades are meant to analyze the level of support of each lawmaker during the 116th Congress and do not constitute an endorsement or opposition to a candidate’s election. The entire report, including the list of key legislation that comprised the scores, is available HERE.

U.S. Senate Votes to Block U.S. from Ratifying U.N. Arms Treaty

United States Senate Arms Treaty CapitolThe U.S. Senate voted 53-46 to stop the United States government from “signing on” to a controversial United Nations Treaty on arms sales. Though negotiations on a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty that would regulate international arms sales are slated to end on March 28, an amendment to the Senate’s budget resolution introduced by Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) is intended to prevent the United States from entering into the treaty.

Inhofe stated: “We’re negotiating a treaty that cedes our authority to have trade agreements with our allies in terms of trading arms. This is probably the last time this year that you’ll be able to vote for your Second Amendment rights.”

Despite President Obama saying he would not vote for anything that would violate the Second Amendment, criticism over his decision to even consider the Treaty prompted the Senate vote on the Inhofe Amendment, which passed by a 53-46 margin.
