This riflescope is on German website http://www.schmidtundbender.de/pm-ii/12-5-50x56-pm-ii-p-4.html
The 12,5-50x56 has less light transmission 75% than the 5-25x56 that has 90% of light transmission.
It weights only 610 grams while the 5-25x56 weights 1080 grams. So I do not know if the 12,5-50x56 will handle the .50 BMG rifle.
And the 12,5-50x56 has its parallax of only 100 meters fixed, while the 5-25x56 has parallax of 10 meters to infinity. See more about parallax here http://www.6mmbr.com/parallax.html
The 5-25x56 has far more elevation to engage targets up to 2000 meters.

Hey there
i am a longrange shooter from Belgium.i have read the comments on this scope .Perhaps i can give some more information.I have a scope 12.5 x50 on order already from last year (april)still not delivered. The delivery times are terribel. But no big deal i have still a scope i can use .The reticles available apart from the dot is a P4fine reticle and the elevations are in 1 cm / 100 m or 1/4 moa or 1/8.There is some confusion i have seen on several sites about the weight but 610 gr is possible because the reticle is not illuminated(no electrical stuff in the scope)OK there are more lenses in it but still its possible.I have this reticle in a 5 x 25 SB scope and its fine enough. (first focal plain)I know from a very good sorce that S&B has big orders from the military so patience is something you need to get one of their PM II scopes(and i don't have it always .......)
kind regards jean-paul

It is a pity it will not have a lit reticle. I looked at a prototype with a lit reticle and was very impressed. I was considering it for field target, but without the lit reticle I am not so sure.

I saw this scope at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas. It's a beauty. I've been in contact with S&B regarding availability and options. This scope will not come with an illuminated reticle and initial reticle choices will be limited. Price range will be around $2700-$2900. This may not be available in the US until later in 2008.
