NF a gold standard? Come on, it’s a nice scope, but optics are not it’s strong suit. NF is australian and assembled in Japan.

Why buy a 10-60x march when you can get a S&B And you can buy three leupies for that money.

What I am trying to say is: to each his own. Apparantly there is a market for high-$ scopes, otherwise there would not be so much choice in them USO, S&B, Zeiss, Hensholdt, March etc. And not just one model either.

I’ve had the oppertunity to look through the S&B 12-50 and this construction is rock solid, optics are perfect even up to it’s 50x, not many scopes can say that. If I turn my NF 8-32 or 12-42 up to 80% of it’s magnification I loose a lot of light and the corners blur. Is this worth $1200 extra for you? I don’t know.

Funny nobody here mentioned THE GOLD STANDARD…. Nightforce.

Gee, let’s see the 5.5-22×56 only goes for $1687 and it is everybit as clear and repeatable (tracking)as the S&B 5-25 at $2900 !!!

Want higher magnification, try the Nighforce
12-42×56 NSX that has an outstanding and rock solid track record. The above scope won the 2005 Individual F-class world Championship ! By the way, it sells for $1800……

Were the H_ll does S&B come up with their pricing. The old school “what the market will bare”…. Me thinks, we are paying for overinflated European wages and a “Brand Name” ! Please someone from S&B come on this thread and TRY to justify your pricing.
and PLEASE don’t give me this POO-POO that it is good enough for the USMC. They either cut a hellava deal or the GAO had a pot full of left over cash from their fiscal budget to dump…

You purchase S&B because of their YEARS of expiernce with glass coatings…plus the double turn knob its pretty much idiot proof…USO scopes are way to heavy and long with not as good glass…if the british royal marines and USMC use S&B its good enough for me

Some fairly bold comments I feel. S&B are in a league of their own. Clarity, precision and strength second to none! Well worth the investment. Even lower magnification optics in the S&B range outperform high end magnifications in the opposition. Period!

I would still rather purchase a US Optics as you will get a lot more for your dollar, and my limited experience indicates that the US Optics is stronger (read virtually indestructable)

Why would you buy this over the new March 10-60 scope when it sells for $2,400.00-$2,500.00 and will be available this February?

There is no chance these scopes will sell for $2,700. The 5-25 scopes already sell for over $2,900. I could see $3,200 easily.
