I think many people underestimate how well a 284 Win can be at long range. It gives up some velocity to the 6.5 x 284, but those 175-180 gr 7mm bullets really do well at the longer ranges. I also had input from Jerry Tierney on my 284 Win prone gun that shoots exceptionally well with a Broughton 1:9″ twist barrel.
