I have a Sako Varminter in 22-250 Ackley improved that still has the factory barrel on it (I had it set back and re-chambered) and I had figured on having to either replace it with a faster twist barrel or have it set back again once I had 1000 cases fire-formed. With this method I might not have to do so. I wonder if this hydraulic forming would work with making 6PPC cases out of 220 Russian? That would be great, because my PPC has an excellent shooting barrel on it now.

The hydraulic method certainly works. It can be a little messy and also a little combersome for doing a lot of cases but it is definitely viable.

What I have also learned with some of the wildcats I play with is that there are and can be some exceptionally accurate fire forming loads and that these fire forming loads can be used in many circumstances where you don't need the performance you would get from the full capacity fire formed cases running "full throttle" loads.

I think it's great Hornady is offering forming alternatives for those that need to form cases.
