A UK Firearms Certificate, for target rifle shooting, requires the applicant to attend a club on a regular basis and continue to do so; the club will then sponsor the applicant to Police, who issue the certificate, after vetting the applicant. The firearms and ammunition have to be kept secure, when not in use. The member has to sign in, per occasion visit to the range and clubs are obliged to inform Police of non-attendees.
Firearms dealer generally wish to see a Firearm Certificate before the sale of consumables.

I’m curious. If the UK has such stringent gun laws, how do the Brits manage to own their rifles, get reloading supplies and find access to practice?

Great Job to team USA and, my friend Grant Taylor, from Scotland. He used a custom rifle stocks from http://www.precisionriflesales.com and placed 3rd overall in the World F Class Individual Championships 2009. Great Job all.

This comment seems curious when our Rutland team won the Gold shooting 6.5s… They were also shooting against the Brits and their 7mms…
