The Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a big part of this country, whether some want to believe it or not. As once said, Take away a persons firearms and you’ve turned them into a victim. You can take away the citizen’s firearms, but you’ll never get all the illegal guns. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Bad guys will always have firearms, that’s the way it is. Why take away a person’s right to protect themselves? Do you think there are enough police out there to protect everyone? WRONG! A couple of years ago a member in office was mugged, he then realized that he could have been killed or his family could have been with him and the same. This little incounter opened his eyes, he now supports conceal carry. Does it have to take such a life threatening measure for so many of those anti-firearm people to open their eyes and wake up and smell the coffee? Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, you can be put into a situation where the Right to Carry could save you or your families life/lives. There are courses out there for people to learn proper handling and safety of firearms. Make the “Right” choice, do not be a victim.

Obviously the 20% of Democrats opposed – including Chicago’s Mayor Daley, among notable others – carry more weight than the rest of the population combined. Were this a true DEMOCRACY things’d be different.

As it’s a representative REPUBLIC, we have to try to do the best we can when those in power subvert the wishes of the electorate to further their own political agendas.
