REF.MY ABOVE COMMENT
I WAS A LITTLE PUT OUT buy the prices of the new hrn.sup.ammo.on their web site.I made up my that I’m not spending much over $25.00 a box for ammo.unless it’s laser guided and heat seeking.Should this happen, Hornady will be the first. After checking my favert ammo.web site,it was with in my price range.
I know HRN.leverevolution in my 30-30 marlin sc(mfg.early60’s,used $35.00)and my marlin 444(1-20 twist)new two yr’s ago does as advertized. Both rifles group three shots 5/8in.c-c at
100yd’s,good at200. Will be checking out new sup.ammo.come spring

How come you compare superformance ammo.to standard vel. ammo. instead of the lm.+hm. which it is replacing?
How come you use high dollar precision rifles instead of quality rem,win,savage etc.which the masses use for testing this new ammo.?
If superformance ammo. uses less powder and does not have to be compressed (easier to mfg.) this should reflect a mfg.cost savings and a more afordable cost to consumers especially during these economic times,right?
I am a fan of Hornady LE. ammo for my lever guns. Thanks, Rog

As a 6.5 Creedmoor shooter I wanted to see how much faster this new ammo was. Well according to the Hornady web site it’s slower than the currently loaded ammo from Hornady. The specs on the 120 A-max is 3020fps and the 120gr GMX Superformance is 3010fps.

The recoil percentage resulting from propellant gas egress varies greatly among cartridges and loadings. A .30-30 cartridge loaded with 200 grain bullets shows a much lower percentage of gas-induced recoil than a .220 Swift loaded with 40 grain bullets. Factors such as bullet velocity and mass, propellant progressivity and mass, and muzzle pressure must be accounted to provide accurate characterization. Blanket statements of “85-90%” serve neither Hornady or the pursuit of truth well.
