I have had the same scale for many years and have only used sparingly due to the same issue. After picking up one of these noise filter at Fry's for less than $3 and installing it the scale now works perfectly in areas of the house where it previously would not function at all. The first indication I had that there was something to this tip was how fast the scale was able to be calibrated which had always been a problem in the past.

Excellent tip, thanks!

We shall see. A friend has the same brand scale that he retired to the shelf three years ago, if favor of his old balance scale. I am going to borrow it and see if it can be made to work better. I'll report back what happens. Good tip, as well as the previous comment.

A basic Isolation transformer is all you normally need for power noise problems. I bought 2 for $25 each. although this is a cheaper option.
