The measurement of bearing surface may prove to be the most valuable with any of these kind of stands or comparators. Sinclair's is very easy to use for the base to ogive length, but the dial indicator support rod is too short to allow the use of the Hex-style comparators with a 30 cal bullet; another inch of rod length would make this a snap.

It would be interesting to see a breakout of dimensions of bearing surface vs. base to ojive for a large number of bullets to see if there is a correlation.
