Shot my Savage .338 the other day at 1767 yards (1 mile + 7 yards), thanks to my new Bushnell fusion 1600 arc range finder (nice to be able to range that far). 73.9 MOA correction (turrets + mil hold overs). Estimated spread 3.5 feet. Its 0.5" at 100 yards. Load: 300 gn sierra match king of course, with 86.5 gn of Retumbo. Muzzle velocity avg. 2648 fps. Nikko Sterling 6-24X 56mm obj scope, which has 63 turret MOAs total but 6 to 7 MIL lengths depending on how you use it. Using Knights Armament ballistic program(KAC Bullet Flight Military Version 3.1.0) on my iphone. The farthest I will be able to sight targets is 2000 yrds based on available scope adjustments and how much the bullet falls. Next step is measure exact " spread at 1000, 1500, 1760, & 2000yrds. Time to go to home depot for that board, its 4x8' ply wood usually right?

I am waiting on (and not patiently) the arrival of my new 110BA, and have opted to go with Horas "Falcon" 5-20X50 optics, ASLI (angle-slope-level-indicator). Any rec. on bipod legs other than harris?

Thanks in advance

The disclaimer underthe photo says, "Jason removed his eye protection for this photo. We recommend that shooters ALWAYS wear ANSI-certified eye protection."

Yet, in the video, Jason loads a round and fires without eye protection. Not good...

To answer John V., the article in this months American Rifleman shows:
Hornady 250-gr. HBPT @ 300 yards
1.85" / 4.16" / 3.27" (avg.)
Average of six factory loads (10 shot groups) was 3.38"
Handloads achieved sub-1/2 MOA @ 1000 yards.
