That’s a valid point, but see the comment below regarding local actions. Also consider this… in California we have 8.25-8.75% Sales Tax, PLUS 11% State Income tax (starting at about $30K a year), my cell phone bill has a 5% city utility tax, and the legislature is planning to triple the state gasoline tax. Oh yes, and we do have property tax, typically about 1.25-1.5% of value each year (depending on local “assessments”).

Perry may have his shortcomings but count your blessings Texas isn’t run like California.

No doubt the country needs more governors like Mr. Berry for a number of reasons although not his example shooting prone. Where are the glasses?
