If I understand it correctly, by “jumping the lands,” you are seating your bullets into your case neck further so they are furhter away from the lands. I have heard this can be a good thing in a .204 rifle. What made you try this, other than experimentation? Has it worked in other rifles you have shot?

For a fixed power, the 40x is about right for 600 yards in my opinion. The 45x is just a little too much on days with a lot of mirage. I like to see some mirage though. It lets me pick up on wind changes. On this particulat rifle, I can’t put on a varible without going over weight. I am not going to mess with it the way it is shooting.

Hey sam,
Why the fixed 40X? I like the idea myself but i thought you needed to have the option of dialing down if the mirage gets to tough? Great shooting by the way!!! Lee Gardner
