As for shooting wax bullets, I have been doing something similar for a while now, shooting bullets made from hot-glue that I cast in my normal bullet molds. It's very simple, as you just shoot the hot glue in through the sprue plate like you would with lead and let it cool for a few minutes before opening it. I have been doing this with several pistol calibers, as well as .308, 45/70 and my .500S&W handi rifle. I use magnum primers for propellant, and have even added a few grains of Bullseye and glued a gas-check on the bottom of the bullet for more velocity. With only a primer, I get around 900FPS from my .45ACP, and have gotten close to 1300fps from my 500S&W with 3grs of Bullseye. It's actually quite fun and allows shooting in areas you would never dream of using normal ammo. For more info go to Ammosmith.com and look in the video section, there is a step by step guide to casting and loading glue bullets. It's way more fun than you would think!
