This site is a life saver. I bought these seater stems way back struggling what Redding wouldn’t tell me about Berger bullets and the stems. What a relief. Many thanks to end many years of bouncing back and forth from the loading bench and the shooting bench with inconsistent results. Even on the forum no one ever told me this

Redding just ‘doesn’t get it’ (and doesn’t listen to customers either). They never have had very good seaters because the seating stems never fit a great many bullets and continue to be much too delicate. There are better seaters available, which are less expensive to boot. Don’t waste your money.

I really like Redding products, but this would be a deal breaker for me too. Hornady has done a very nice job designing their dies to have interchangeable seating stems & only require one micrometer head to fit multiple die sets.

Why can’t you use a VLD head for non VLD bullets?
