Only down side i see is the price. For 25 bucks i think i will stick to my current set up. I truly see nothing wrong with my brass jags as they are. I am open minded however and if these jags were a little less money i would most certainly give one a try. Innovation is a good thing, i am just a tight butt when it comes to certain things. Looks like a great product, just a bit to pricey for me. Lee

Other plastic jags that I have seen have been made of materials that are a little too soft and rubbery to suit my taste, and to allow the same patch piercing point that is typical of brass jags. They also lacked any provision for crown protection, and were primarily designed to help prevent false readings as to patch color when using that method to detect copper in a rifle’s bore.

The material that these jags are made from is rigid enough to use the same design, where they hold the patch, as brass jags, and the workmanship appears to be excellent. I see advantages, and no disadvantage.

This seems like a really good idea. With a bit of thought it also seems like most (but not all) of the benefits could be had with a bit of heat shrink tubing of appropriate size – and sure enough – it works. No data on how the HST resists bore solvents yet, but since most of it is either PVC or silicone, it ought to be fine.
