EDITOR: You have a sharp eye! Be aware however, that the Springfield and other vintage military rifles compete together in the Springfield and Vintage Military Rifle Match at Perry. Of course, the Springfield was an Americanized copy of the Mauser 98. However, to eliminate confusion we have changed the photo and identified the rifle as a Mauser variant.
