Yes, this is a cool product & just one more example of how human creativity fills all sorts of niches you never imagined were there. The occlusion was probably from mis-alignment of the iPhone's lens to the eyepiece of the spotting scope, it's got to be centered up to work properly. I've used a conventional DSLR for borescope shots but it's tricky; maybe this adapter will work for that too?

I suspect the video function will render bullet trace just fine but will have to wait until next season to put my theory to a real-world test. Of course I'll also need to acquire one of these adapters....

As for being legal in Palma; to what purpose? Taking pictures while shooting? Why add yet another distraction? On the other hand, using the iPhone to enlarge & present a spotting scope image might make wind-reading a little more practical.

I'd like somebody to author an iPhone app that will enable two iPhone users to use FaceTime with one iPhone in the pits, watching a target for impacts, with the other on the line spotting the shots as they come in!!

Funny story; I had just got my new Brunton spotting scope and on a whim took it on the porch to look at the moon and was shocked to see how much detail you can make out with only 60x magnification. I tried to take a photo by holding my iphone over the lens but only got some lame, half occluded pictures.
This product, while hockey is a cool idea.

I wonder if the video function would pic up bullet trace?
