I'm shooting a Kelbly F-Class action in a McMillan prone stock. Barrel is a Broughton 32.25" 12 twist. Trigger is Kelbly (best in my opinion). Scope is a Nightforce NSX 12-42 with custom hardware. Bipod is a CenterShot model. I shot a 185 Berger BT in Lapua brass, BR2 primer, Varget. Velocity is just a touch under 2800 fps.

Thanks for the reply, Jeff. I'm still impressed with what you have been able to achieve so don't get me wrong. I'm just wishing there was a more tactical-style competition for rifles only. I guess I'll have to think about 3-gun and learn how to shoot a shotgun again.

EDITOR: Jon -- here you go. A new series of matches that focus on tactical precision rifles (not belly benchrest). Courses of Fire are typically 95-100% rifle. Sometimes an optional pistol stage but no significant shotgunning needed.

Jon-

F-TR in the earlier days may have had equipment like you described, but it has become very competitive and 30"+ barrels are common. With a 24" barrel, you may run into issues with not being supersonic at 1000 yards, but an accurate 24" barrel with great wind reading skills can be competitive, but you will work harder for it.

Great video. It was pretty informative. A couple things I learned, however, were somewhat surprising and disappointing. They have nothing to do with Mr. Rorer but with F-TR. I've just started looking into it because it would be interesting to compete. But I was under the impression F-TR equipment was more like tactical shooters would use, e.g. similar to the .308 24" bolt-action I shoot with a 3-15 Premier LT on it and an Atlas bipod. From this article and video it appears that F-TR is not that at all.
