At the very least, they should give us a voucher for a box or two of our favorite ammo.

I have my .223 dead nuts on, and I don't cherish the thought of spending my time and money getting it back to where it was.(I know it's not that big a deal compared to having an accident, but it adds up!)

And yes, I too was planning a hunting trip over the long weekend.

PS- I still love the rifle and was planning on buying one in .308. If I get one, I will make sure it has been fixed so I don't have to go through this all over again.

Not good! Scope remount (free if I do it), shooting range fees (~$45) and more shells (~$20), lease fees and expenses (~$500) and a 12 year old with his new rifle ready to go and now dad has to say sorry (how do you price this one). Either way, we go and you don't put anything in the chamber until we get ready to make a shot or you have to just watch dad. S&W should have some compensation in some way. Dang this is Thompson Center and that is why we bought it over the other brands.

The rifle I have I bought in february of 2011 and it's on the recall list. The bulletin states they were produced between 8/1/11 and 10/28/11. How is my rifle on here?

EDITOR: Jason -- see 11/14 Bulletin update. S&W has EXPANDED the recall to include ALL T/C Ventures manufactured prior to 10/28/2011. So, yes your Feb-made rifle is on the expanded recall list. See:

I am willing to bet that if the TC plant had remained in New Hampshire, this would not have happened. Now you will experience TC products at the sub-standard level that Smith and Wesson produces its products at.
