I am glad to see Colt as well as other firearms manufacturers leave these anti gun states. Let these anti gun liberal politicians loose state tax revenue and maybe next time gun control legislation comes up it will make them think before they pass these laws. After all, why produce a product in a state where the product is illegal for sale. The people who manufacture these products cannot even own one. As far as I am concerned colt needs to move all their operations out of New England. Hit these politicians where it hurts – Jobs and tax revenue.

Good grief, Isn’t the 10 round mags in Cal. bad enough! A bullet button system! That is a new one. Couldn’t have made that one up if I tried.

I can’t find anything about the differences between the CA compliant rifles/carbines and the “regular” ones. Can someone enlighten me?
Possibly a recorded message that says “guns are bad, you could have hurt someone” after each shot?
“The Pentagon has determined that this item can be deadly” stamped on the magwell?

Actually, seriously, what changes were made?

Editor: Typically, CA-compliant ARs have a modified magwell/magrelease that will not drop a magazine unless a special tool is used. That tool can be a bullet tip — hence the popular “bullet button” system. We’re not sure if Colt is using a “bullet button” or other setup to render this a rifle with a “magazine that requires tools to remove.”
