QuickLOAD IS updated regularly with DATA Updates. They are just releasing one now - NOT yet on their website (I picked up at copy at SHOT). The prior update - the posted on their website is dated Sep 8, 2011. The one prior to that was in June or July of 2011. Go to their HOME/home page at http://www.neconos.com/ That page is the only one of the three (3) for the product that shows the date of the DATA Updates.

The updates are not free - web price is $15.95.

IMR 8208 is included (at least in the latest version), in a group of 13 IMR powders. It even includes RL 50 which is more recent than IMR 8208.

No, the AMAX 123 gr 6.5 is NOT listed. That is the only downside, there are ONS more bullets that could be listed...BUT, as already noted above, it is relatively easy to add listings based on the manufacturer's specs.

Not that QL is difficult to learn, use & benefit from. But new users should bounce loads off multi-sources for a while.
It's NOT a reloading manual. It's way different, and should not be used like that. Inexperienced reloaders who would rely on every answer to be provided for them, could get themselves in trouble with QL.
Just as with external ballistic programs, QL is no more reliable than the inputs supplied by end users.

And as far as constant updates for QL;
It would be nice, but I don't see it as owed to anybody. We can adjust our cases & powders & bullets easy enough.
Again, QL is not a manual, or series of annual reloading manuals.
That was never it's purpose.
Only experienced users can completely replace manuals with it.

Even though the 6.5mm Hdy 123gr AMAX was not in the list, it was easy enough to add. With some fine tuning I've been able to predict velocities within 20fps of measured. It would be nice if they could post powder values to be added to the list - IMR 8208XBR would be nice.

QuickLOAD would be an excellent addition to everybody's reloading toolkit if they would simply update the program on a regular basis! No updates for the past 2 years has left almost all of the interesting bullets and powders released in that timeframe completely unavailable. Until they update, it's not worth the money IMO.
