The best plugs are the ones you use and like because you are more likely to have them at all times. I wear mine 10 hours a day and don't even remove them at lunch. If you purchase several pairs you can put the dirty ones in a mesh bag to keep them together and just toss them into the washing machine then hang the bag over the clothes bar until they air dry. They are so cheap though that buying them bulk is easier for most people.

Jed, that's good advice....

A friend of mine swears by these things. He has very sensitive ears. Normal plugs hurt his ears, and muffs do as well. These are the only type he can use. He wears them for hours at a time, every day while working in his shop.

Never re-use earplugs without washing them first. Never insert earplugs with dirty hands .Washing with soap and water (washing machine) or at least using alcohol on them. The eyes and ears are some of the easiest pathways for viruses and bacteria to attack your body. I have worked at an indoor factory testing range for 25 years and can easily predict who is going to become ill next by observing who dosen't use fresh plugs and who dosen't wash their hands before inserting ear plugs.
