I have been a programmer for many years, the iOS operating system is locked down quite a bit. If this developer knows what he is doing then I am %100 sure its is protected /encrypted and is sounds to me like he knows what he is doing. I got the app my self and have not been able yet to get to the database. If I do I will let the developer know for sure. I think this app is great so far.

They don’t need your phone to access this information. Your computer backs up everything stored on the phone and can easily be hacked into anytime it is connected to the internet.
