I guess I don't really see the point of wasting expensive bullets and scarce powder doing prior load testing without the tuner/brake installed. Instead, with the tuner/brake installed I would do load testing for the sole purpose of getting the desired muzzle velocity regardless of group sizes. Then I'd follow the Bostrom instructions to adjust the tuner/brake to get the minimum spread in 2 shot groups... although I'm tempted to up it to 3-5 shot groups. I also intend to do the testing with a Magnetospeed V2 Chronograph installed. I don't want the data skewed by a rogue round that goes say 50 fps slower than other rounds in the group. Regardless of the number of shots in the group, I would discard any plots where the MV was outside say 10 fps.

Just my 2 cents.

I will say two opinions. For me this tuner brake has performed very well.My scores have improved greatly, however I recommend doing load developement without the tuner to find your rifles natualy best load then shoot several groups with tuner installed.when you find the spot you want the best groups should be recorded and try this 3 times. The location should be within a .200 window of where that group will all be in the same hole! TRY IT
