But Lance, there ISN’T a shortage…..it IS gouging.

There isn’t any more of a shortage of primers or components than there was last summer.

With retailers all using Just In Time inventory management, any run on something is temporary, just until they restock from the manufacurer. To raise prices as a result of this ban FUD is contemptible.

Powder Valley has always shown itself to be a smart company and the shooter’s friend – and they continue to do so now.

Prices going up during a shortage isn’t gouging, it’s economics. $26/1000 for Federal 100 primers is a great price, but it does me no good if they’re out of stock. At $36/1000 I found what I needed elsewhere and can finish my reloading on my schedule. That’s the wonderful thing about a free market based on voluntary exchange. If primer prices were capped at $26/1000 there wouldn’t be a primer to be found anywhere except for the black market which would inevitably crop up.

Love Powder Valley. Certainly appreciated them backing away from gouging as so many are trying to do right now. Ill remember the company’s that took advantage and the ones that haven’t in the future.
