As an Australian, I can tell you that registration is the first step in confiscation. Don’t go there, fight with all you’ve got, write letters, call people. Go to marches. Fight like crazy.

Dont whatever you do, allow these changes because they don’t affect target shooters or shotgun users. One chip at a time they got us.

You guys have to fight this. The UK, Australia and even Canada have all been affected by laws passed purely on the basis of emeotion. I want to scream, every time I hear the term “assault rifle” to make a point used in complete and utter ignorance.

There is definitely room for keeping firearms from those not mentally or criminally fit to have them but the fear and misinformation being used as the justification for passing laws is frightening.

Sadly i dont think anything thats happened recently was committed by criminals.

Using euphamism for AR type weapons is wrong, they are not modern fireams however you want to word it, its a semi automatic rifle no more no less. Same goes for calling it an assault weapon

Restricting lawful magazine capacity to 10 rounds.( just need an endorsement on your gun registration, good reason to own ie competition etc? )
Confiscating ALL magazines (including pistol mags) holding more than 10 rounds. ( silly idea how many mags are out there!!!)

Statewide gun registration for ALL firearms.

Re-registration every two (2) years with rising fee schedule. (10 years not 2 )
Permit requirement for any rifle with a pistol grip. ( didnt realise pistol grips were so dangerous!!)

Registration of all ammunition purchases. ( Dont see an issue here )

Limits on ammo quantities one can purchase and possess. (Will probably be so high it wouldnt matter anyway)

Ban on internet sales of ammo in Connecticut. (Just buy it from a shop then.)

Mandatory locked gun storage requirements. ( ridiculous that its not law now. Sorry but why arent your guns locked up anyway!!!)

I know all that makes me sound anti however i am a keen shooter and love my guns after all they are fun but ive been in the UK and seen gun control ive seen it here in New Zealand, at some point we have to accept a little responsibility, if we keep making out the these laws are irrational and draconian (stupid description too) then we will look as obtuse and uninformed as the people making them and supporting them.

Theres nothing wrong with a reasonable compromise, as long as the basic right isnt taken away so what if we have to carry 3 10rd mags at the range or i have to unlock the gun cabinet before i go shooting.

When you allow democrat to take power this is what you happened. They push through legislation that has been proven around the world to increase gun violence rather then reduce it by disarming the good guy. Any gun owner that votes for a democrat should be ashamed at himself. I personally know three shooters now that are moving out of state over this. I would if I could GG from NY

Not a single one, or even all, of those proposed laws will prevent a criminal from misusing a firearm. Only law-abiding citizens will be affected, and the criminals are happy their “victims” will be less-protected.

Sounds pretty much of a “copy” of the gun laws enacted here in Australia following the Port Arthur massacre.
