They’ve been doing this for decades in the French Armed Forces. The best way to clean a FAMAS or a Fr-F2 is to use a stainless steel brush dipped in the black oil that makes you laugh like you’re stoned, on an uncoated steel rod chucked on an electric drill. It makes the bore super smooth.

Well, I can honestly say I have seen the “Hand jobber” “Bore-o-matic” in action. Jack Neary uses a Version of this in his cleaning regimen. His is more compact. He has a Dewey rod without the handle, chucked into a cordless drill. He runs that thing in and out for at least 20 stokes.
