Would like to see him shoot a round of High Power Silhouette. That would show us if this was luck or not lol. It was a single great shot to be sure and it surprised him most of all I think.

Very nice to see Ryan still playing with the Barrett self-loader. Haven’t seen him or Colby in awhile. They had the right combination for that shot with a fresh Barrett factory gun and ammo, I remember the combo well from when I did the weapons testing for Top Shot. The gun is heavy but you can balance and shoot it without too much difficulty. The muzzle brake absorbs so much of the recoil that these semi-autos really don’t kick any harder than a .308. Bottom line, that’s a good shot. Nicely done.

The kick from 50’s that I’ve shot is very easy to handle. Those big muzzle brakes turn what could be dangerous levels of recoil into basically a shove. It pushes you back, but doesn’t punch you. From just a recoil standpoint, I’d much rather shoot a 50 than a shotgun. The muzzle blast, however, is a different story.

Great Shot! That’s a lot of rifle to shoulder.

The M107 is a wonderful platform for distance shooting. We hosted a shoot recently with our shop M107 shooting prone at 500yds. Better than 65% 1st hit ratio with 1st time 50BMG shooters. Really good when you consider that many of these shooters were also taking their 1st shots past 200yds and a few hadn’t shot any guns before that day and still got hits.

The muzzle blast is punishing, but the recoil isn’t really all that bad for most.
