Note to NRA I am a new member and find the policy to have to activate your Ins. to be Stupid and very inefficient. Suggest you activate the Ins. at time you become a member, It stinks of a SHAM. plus the info I understand they require you already possess. Lot more effort needs to be put into this, so as to not burden your fellow members with all the extra crap. Note I could not even get into the activation part of the sign up. Just very poor business. I also suggest better protection of our information we supply you with. Lets us please get it together for your members, and actually be a service to us. Thank You Tim

Hey! It's the NRA. Of course they will use your info to generate sales pitches and will probably sell it to other insurance vendors. One more thing: Google Analytics has a web bug on that page that's going to tell ad servers all over the planet that you looked at insurance. And it's Google, the same guys that turned all your e-mails and chats over to the NSA . . .

But free insurance is good!

Editor: Since the "activation" is done by NRA members, the NRA already has your name, address etc. (Which does make us wonder why this activation procedure is needed at all). A major reason that Many folks join the NRA is the insurance coverage. We believe those folks need to be informed that they aren't getting what they paid for unless they follow through with activation. If you don't care about the insurance, then there are arguments not to share info through activation. But look at the NRA's onlin membership sign-up page. They are getting all this info when you sign-up or renew your membership.

I just activated my policy, but with that amount of date, I am concerned about privacy. I put in place two tells that will allow me to follow any 'follow-up' emails/junk mail etc that I would hope would not be sent without my consent. Other than that, I like the idea and had no knowledge of it's existance. Thanks.

I went to the website and it appears to be an Unsecure webpage that requires all your personal information. To many hackers and databots out there for my liking to be using some not Secure. I did not complete it but I did send the company and email about options.
