If the 115 is kept at 3000fps, then why chose such an overbore case and not a 6×47 or 6XC (which is already overbore for such speeds).

I’m pushing 115DTACs at 3200fps from my 31″ 6×47 (H4350/CCI450).

The 6mm Creedmoor has been around for the last two or three years complete with factory brass from Hornady. Brass life is excellent and velocities comparable to the cartridge described above. It has NOT been limited to Tactical competitions alone, although this was the venue originally determined to be benefited. It can also be a terrific 1,000 yard cartridge or even a excellent hunting cartridge.

The AR10 platform has benefited greatly from this cartridge development, providing an improved trajectory and accuracy when compared to the venerable and often fielded .308 Win.

Copper Creek Cartridge Co. has loads for those who prefer to enter the custom load field without having to reload.

6mm Creedmoor is a very popular tactical competition cartridge right now. Great trajectory and wind resistance with low recoil.

In the same vein as the .20 practical, I wonder how a 6.5 Creedmore necked down to 6mm would compare? In a similar fashion to the .20 one could start with a 6.5 FL bushing die and simply use the appropriate 6mm bushing to make brass.
