We have held similar matches here in Texas, using all types of animal targets,but with some rifle capable of shooting small (one hole) groups..we had some shooters that would only fire 3-4 shots and claim 5 shots when the group or cluster was small enough to be questionable..same reason group BR uses moving backers..we decided to change venue to using a Hunter BR target.

Guess you mean a muzzle brake? Yes, if club rules allow it. Some clubs have separate benches for muzzle break rifles. That way, your ear muffs won’t get blown away.

Benchrest “groundhog” matches for score are very popular here in SW Pa. At one clubs match’s, fire 6 shots at 1,2,3,4 & 500 meters and the high 5 on each target count for score total. Custom & Factory classes so everyone can fit in somewhere.

1/2 of the entry fees are returned in cash payouts to the top 3 scores in each class.
