Yes, current ‘state of the art’ would be mere rules of thumb, if not for McCoy’s best defining of truths.

Nice review German.

McCoy truly was ‘the man’. Without him and this book, the ‘state of the art’ would be substantially behind where it is now.

The book is without equal in two respects: first as a modern ballistics book.
And second regarding the amount of misprints in it. This might have to do with the untimely death of Robert MCoy and the printing of the book in China. From the website of J.B. Millard a PDF file can be downloaded that contains corrections. It runs to 20 pages. The URL is: http://www.jbmballistics.com
