Gentlemen,
English is not my main language, so I did read the rules associated carefully before I was starting to design/make the mat.

#1. It is not a board or plate.
Key word: rigid board 'vs' flexible.
Anyones can see it is not a board, it can be folded, or rolled if you wish to.

#2. It does not have any guiding means.
I do not make the mat so that the feet slide on any 'groove' etc.
I make four divided 'compartments' instead of many, to avoid the "guiding means". You can see that the feet sit-on the center compartment of the mat. I was thinking to make 'groove' on the mat to 'accept' the feet (it should track better that way) but I know it would be illegal.

#3. As it is not a board or plate, I do 'think' it does NOT HAVE TO meet the 24"x12"x1/2" thick requirement.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

#4. My mat does not have any protusions on the bottom & top.
The sand inside would follow the contour of the ground, which make it stable.

#5. I saw various mats used @ the 2013 US Nats & Worlds, from carpet to thick neophrene, or layers/stacked materials which might exceed 1" thick (either to raise the height or to make them heavier, etc) - I did NOT see any problem, DQ, protest, or someone protested.

#6. I did read somewhere in this great forum that you can use mat of any size under your bipod as long as it is not a rigid board/plate.
And that statement came from some distinguished-great F/TR shooters. I am sure they know "a bit" about F-class shooting/match.

Just my opinion & finding,
seb.

My Thanks to EVERYONES that helped me to create & improve the bipod. Without your helps it won't be 'like this' now!

My special thanks to Paul McMenamin who has been a really good friend and 'urged' me to improve/make a better feet. And by the way Paul, I am just an average 'Joe' here.

Guy,

I don't think it does per the NRA HP Rulebook:

 3.4.1 Rifle Rests –
(b) F-Class Target Rifle (F-TR) Rests – A bipod and/or sling are the only allowed front supports for
the F-TR rifle. The rifle may be supported by a bipod and/or sling and rear support which provide
no positive mechanical method for returning it to its precise point of aim for the prior shot. Subject
to:
(2) The use of any form of a table is prohibited. Separate flat boards or plates not exceeding the
dimensions of the individual rests by two inches are allowed to be placed under the front
and/or rear rests. In the case of a bipod, the board may not exceed the width of 24” nor depth
of 12” and thickness of 1/2”.

It's not a "flat board" or "plate" and the thickness is greater than 1/2".

Not trying to take anything away from Seb he does excellent design work.

If the pad is within F-T/R rules, I'd love to get one. I've already got one of his bipods on order and can't wait to try it out.

Seb is consistently thinking outside the box and it is awesome!
