Shipping USPS flat rate makes SO much sense – the box is FREE, they accommodate accounts to take care of the payment and postage generation, and they do pickups. And, since the current service level is Priority 2-Day, many shipments will be received earlier. Does lower cost AND faster delivery make sense for a BUSINESS that supposedly is very interested in providing superior customer service? Were I the local post office in the area of their major shipping points I would have long ago put together a very compelling proposal to get their business.

The above noted, there are MANY companies that COULD benefit themselves and their customers by using USPS flat rate shipping. With the postal service always seeming to be low on funds, the extra business SHOULD make a ton of sense to them also.

So, WHY is USPS flat rate NOT being used by major businesses???

I had E-Mailed Larry several years back about his HIGHER than normal shipping rates-specifically WHY he did NOT use the USPS for small items that would easily shipped that way.
He mentioned that USPS did not offer a Pick-up service for him–Hard to believe.
The $18.+ shipping for a brick of 22 ammo is unacceptable and as previously mentioned ammo loose in the packaging is uncalled for simple shrink wrap would eliminate that.

Besides their absurd shipping charges for smaller items; is it THAT hard to buy boxes to ship these in without using a 12″x14″ box that is five times the required size?

And if they’re using USPS for shipping why not use the Priority Mail boxes which ship for a flat fee? There are NO weight charges using this method. Hell, you could ship fifteen 100ct boxes of bullets for $11.30 anywhere in the US.
By the pound they’d be charging over $30!

Meh, Powder Valley and Third Generation do it better with more stock.

Thanks But NO Thanks, MIDWAY USA, I don’t see it. I use to order every other day, I had “Dealer Pricing” as a builder, they started cutting away on the price break till they did away with it all together. That break helped take up the shipping. I would round-up to the NRA fund and he got all the credit. When they did away with the dealer pricing I was told we would get the sales magazines with free shipping on items, NEVER got it once but the dealer price stop , so did I. Midway is an EXtremely Last resort now regardless.

It doesn’t matter how much they reduce costs if the contents of your package is bent or broken. How many times have you folks ordered several items only to have Midway ship them all loose in a box . ….500 bullets rolling around in a box getting dented will not work. I order from Grafs, no price gouging and well packaged shipping.

Wow! ELR Researcher, that would put their shipping even higher than before!!! If that is to be the case they’ve seen their last order from me that’s for sure! Their shipping was already outrageous as it was. I can get my stuff from Botach with free shipping, they don’t have everything I need but they do have quite a bit!

I shifted much of my purchases to other companies because of the ridiculous shipping prices/policies. I’ll see if this is an improvement.

So the 10# example would be $11.99, not $5.99. That is $5.99 PLUS ($0.60 x 10) $6.00 = $11/99
