I set it up that way so that the angle of the velcro on the barrel mated better with the contour of the blind, making the adhesive application a bit easier.

I’ll have to try making an inverted duplicate and see if there’s a noticeable difference.

Why would you install it arched side up keep the heat in the center only to radiate through the shield and still create a mirage. Flip it over so the heat dissipates outward away from the scope centerline.
