I prefer redneck golf. One person tees off, the other defends the holes with a shotgun gun.It is a double handicap sport. Regular golf handicap applies to the person swinging the club. The defender is handicapped based on shooting skill and runs between .410, 28ga, 20ga, 16ga, and 12ga with the smaller gages going to the better shooters.

Re: DR1586
I don't think you're the Lone Ranger.
I enjoy shooting AND golf as well and I think that if some sort of poll were taken, we would find quite a few people out there who enjoy both activities...as well as many others e.g. hunting, fishing, tennis, etc.
Personally, I enjoy both shooting and golf for a variety of reasons, perhaps foremost would be that they both take place outdoors and require the utmost in concentration.

I seem to be one of the few shooters out there that enjoys both shooting and golf. If you look at the two sports, there are a lot of parallels between the two. Both are more or less and individual sport where the competitor is playing as much against him/herself as they are the others in the field and the elements. Mental preparation and the ability to focus are key in both sports. I treat a round of golf the same way I do an 800agg, one shot at a time. Both sports have a long and storied history that makes for fantastic reading. Those that perform at spectacular levels over time become the standard by which we measure the newer competitors. Guys like Nicklaus, Palmer and Nelson are akin to Blankenship, Anderson, Reeve, Bernosky and Tubb. Just my 2 cents, I'm sure others will have a different take on it.
