Ugh.

We use RFID badges at work, and half the time they don't even work on the first attempt. Normally it's not a big deal, except when luck has decided that it won't be with you that day so it's 4 attempts to read a badge to get into the building. 5 attempts to get through the main hallway, 3 attempts to get to the engineering area, and another 5 attempts to get into the lab.

And a wall adapter? Really? Sure it includes a battery, but then you're constantly having to worry about the state of the battery.

So if I do need access to it, I'll be stuck wondering if the reader works, if the electronics work... and it's not like these things are sturdy enough to keep a determined thief from stealing your gun, I'd just rather stick with a mechanical option.
