I have one of the Bighorn actions, and there have been a couple of significant improvements since the article was written in 2011. The new actions have built in recoil lugs, that continue the drop in to Remington inletting capability. Also, the action threads are the same as small shank Savages (same diameter as Remington, different thread pitch), and the bolt heads have the same face depth as Savages...so any small shank, prechambered, off the shelf barrel can be assembled to the action, with no lathe work whatsoever. Currently, I have a McGowan 6.5x47 barrel on mine, installed with a Savage nut. This makes for the ultimate, bolt it together yourself capability. By interchanging bolt heads, any number of calibers can be used on the same action, all with the advantages of Remington inletted stocks and Remington pattern triggers, the best available. I am not surprised at the accuracy shown in the article. Mine does very well too.
