I would agree with Monte and my gunsmith just cuts me a cheater gauge by reaming the barrel stub that is removed prior to crowning a new barrel.

Seems like an awful lot of trouble to get a Precision Mic to work, where a Stoney Point/ Hornady LnL insert will do the same thing with no improvisation… for less money. Or if you want to get picky about shoulder angles, the newer Sinclair inserts…
