		<description><![CDATA[Or is it that there isnt enough people in the south to field a TR / MR team and it is rather inconvenient to recognise an unbroken tradition of riflemen but all in the north? The legacy of those original Irish riflemen- the Rigbys et al - is Match Rifle. The same trophies are still in existence with their names on it and the Elcho Match which they all competed in is still fought for annually-the oldest annual rifle International match in the world.]]></description>

When the match was revived in 2011 it was determined that since the original event was conceived as not only a show-down between the Irish (at the time the reigning Continental champs) and the Americans (of Kentucky riflemen and buffalo hunter fame), but a head-to-head match up of the latest in precision rifle tech - breech loaders vs. muzzle loaders... that F-Class was the currently appropriate venue, complete with sanctioning bodies at the national level on both sides, etc.]]></description>
