If you have a BAT action, simply send in your bolt and they will open up the face for a very nominal charge. This is cheaper than a new bolt, saves buying a lathe, and the new .308 bolt face still shoots the 6PPC round with no trouble.

You can call me if you like at 972-524-2247 from 4:30-6:30pm Texas time. Basically, I put a Wilson BR case holder in the collet of my lathe. I have to trim it a bit so that the butt of the case sticks out enough for my form tool to cut the rims. You can hand grind a form tool to match the PPC rim and you just make a plunge cut. Pop the brass out and push another in.

What you are missing is the bolt will no longer pull a PPC case. The rebated case allows you to use both cases.

What about just having the bolt-face opened up? Cost is minimal (around $50) and it’s a one-time thing. What am I missing?
