I have just bought a eliminator 4 to put on ruger american hunter 6.5 Creedmoor shooting Barnes 127 LRX at 2904 fps w/BC of .468 what is my 750 drop number????

EDITOR: Using the free online JBM Ballistics Calculator, based on a G1 BC of 0.468, 2904 FPS MV, and a 100-yard ZERO, and altitude of 500 feet, your calculated bullet drop is 18.9″ MOA at 750 yards, or 148.5 inches.

This assumes a 1.5″ sight height above bore, 500 ft geo-elevation, and 70deg F temperature.

You can do this your self online. But you need to enter your own altitude and the temperature, as well as the sight height of your scope. Suggest you practice with JBM and learn what you need to input. The Barnes 127gr LR X boattail is in the database.

Hi,

I Just bought a 6.5 x 300 Weatherby Magnum and I don’t see any bullets in the cartridge list. I’m currently shooting 140 green interlock selec 1 bullets by Weatherby.

I have a Burris Eliminator 4 scope.

Burris,
Please help me with altitude compensation. I don’t understand where your acquire the adjusted drop (inches) and the adjusted BC to calculate the change in altitude. I understand the formula of calculation but am lost on these two adjusted numbers to use.

The Hornady website (https://www.hornady.com/support/ballistic-coefficient) says the BC on the 162 grain ELD-X is between 0.670 G1 and .637 depending on how fast you drive the bullet.

They report a G1 bc of .673 for the 212 grain ELD-X at a different webpage. (https://www.hornady.com/bullets/eld-x#!).

You can plug those numbers into the JBM ballistic calculator page (http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin/jbmtraj-5.1.cgi) to get your trajectories at whatever speed and distance you like.
