Slim my guess would be 1:9 but I haven’t tried ‘em yet in mine. Most other 180’s can work in that twist while the longer ones need faster twist.

Sierra made/makes the excellent-factory tipped 6mm 115 grain DTAC. It’s commendable to produce a box-ready competition contender. 7 mm bullet tipping is not as tedious as say expanding the necks of brand new 6.5 mm brass, but it can result in some points looking slightly different from each other and that is not a reassuring feeling. If Sierra gets these as pointed as DTAC’s are, a great many brand loyal shooters will be trying them out. That they don’t need sorting verges on the amazing.

These were so close in measurement and weight they did not require sorting.

They shot very consistently.

Wow. Sierra finally catches up with market demand 15 years after the 7mm was found to be a go to caliber.

I need a job in their R&D Department!

Irony aside, this one will come down to price and consistency, if the sorting of other bullets (I’m thinking the 6.5 142 SMKs here) is anything to go by.

Editor: People should be less skeptical here. We have first-hand reports from three nationally-respected F-Open shooters who have been very impressed with these bullets. The sample I inspected had very nice, very uniform tips.

Now that they’ve taken tips from Hornady and ogives from Berger perhaps they could take a page from both and publish accurate G7 data?
