Parallax on my Leupold 4X 33mm is factory set at 150Y and works just fine at 600. The fact this is just 4X makes a big difference. I find the scope very repeatable as well, between 200-600Y. In poor light the scope has a big edge.

Even at 4X, parallax is not really noticeable at the 600 yard MR target. I used the trick Vaughn mentioned in his book and mounted the scope further forward so I can see a “ghost ring” of sorts. It forces me to pay attention to sight alignment, so it further reduces parallax error.

I will say that having an optic makes shot calling orders of magnitude easier and more accurate now. I guess the nuns were onto something

Questions abound,

Repeatability. That’s the thing that matters most for a service rifle sight system. You can dial 1/4×1/4 iron sights with your eyes closed counting clicks and the bullet will go where your dope says … every time. Mil-spec day optics are not known for dialing repeatability; they are set once then hold off designs. Nor are some commercial scopes on the market, even expensive ones. What’s the word on this scope’s knobs ability to dial and hammer?

And how does it drive at the extreme departure distance from it’s fixed parallax setting; namely, 600 yards. What technique adaptations need to be kept in mind and how do these differ from the midrange/longrange methods that rely on scopes with parallax adjusters to keep the eye box tame.

When March released their scope for this market there was a hue and cry about this being the end of civilisation as we know it. Has that gone away now?
