Just note for whatever reason this SIII scope does not come with a sunshade. The 6-24 and 8-32 scopes do. A sunshade for the 10-50 can be purchased separately for an additional $50 or so.

There is no way to choose the type of reticle beyond the general description of ‘dot’ or ‘crosshairs’, can’t choose to have moa or mil adjustments.

EDITOR: Steve, Amazon stocks most of the different models. These are listed on different pages. We have links to Four (4) models, but there are others. If you do a search and read the detailed product descriptions you will see the reticle version listed AND the click-values. For example, this model has Fine Cross-Hair and 1/8 MOA clicks:

If you want a different configuration you need to search for it. There are also tabs under the pricing info that let you switch reticle types.

With respect to the new SV scopes, none of the ones currently offered have 1/8moa clicks, and the reticles all seem very busy. There is a model with 0.05mil clicks (about half-way between 1/8 and 1/4 moa in granularity of adjustment) like as offered on the S&B 10-50.

I’m not sure what the target market is — obviously not a tactical/PRS type scope, not enough elevation for ELR, not ideal for F-class and other target shooting.

Editor: Just to clarify, Mike is talking about the $1999.99 SV Sightrons, NOT the $980 SIII Sightron 10-50x scopes spotlighted in this article. The SIII line-up DOES include models with 1/8-MOA clicks and clean reticle options, such as FCH and Target Dot.

Also, with respect to the new SV line, there isn’t one offered with 1/8moa clicks (yet?), the closest is a model offering 0.05mil clicks, and the reticles all seem busy. Like the Burris XTR II “f-class” scope I’m not sure what these new SVs want to be, they’re not quite suitable as tactical/PRS scopes yet they’re not quite there as pure target scopes either.
